Ruth spelled her name tonight. I was giving her a bath (usually Brian's gig, but since he was at his men's meeting, it was all me) and we were playing with her bath crayon. I tried to write her name and said, "R" but before I could say the "u", Ruth took the crayon out of my hand and said, "I will do it. R -U-T-H". She didn't write the letters so don't get too excited.
Grayson is smiling more. In a one last ditch effort, I took Grayson to the doctor Friday. I was afraid the doctor was going to tell me again that nothing was wrong with him and that it was just teething pain. I think if that had been the case I would have started crying right there in the office. Grayson was a bear to be around last week. But since he has never had fever, I didn't really think he had an ear infection. But since we have the second best doctor in the practice (in my opinion, of course. I think Ruth's doctor is the best but she is retiring in September - I really did cry when I learned that information. We will miss Dr. Ruth Brown so very much), he keep looking in Grayson's ear, removing wax and then even using a tube of some sort to see inside his ear. Sure enough, Grayson had an ear infection. Dr. Smith was amazed and congratulated me on suspecting an ear infection. So now that Grayson has medicine he is smiling again and laughing. He doesn't "talk" near as much as Ruth did at this age, but it is my understanding that boys usually talk later than girls.
It is hard to believe that Grayson is 5 and a half months old. I think the time is going much faster than it did with Ruth. I still feel like I don't give either one of them the time they need but am trying to balance one-on-one time with each of them each day. And today even took a nap with Grayson cuddling with him like I used to do with Ruth.
Time to feed Grayson. I want Brian to be able to go straight to bed when he comes home. He is working a lot this week. We are so thankful to have him be able to provide for us.
Glad little man is feeling better. It stinks when they feel bad, and you can't figure out what's wrong! Yay Ruth for spelling your name! I see some spelling bees in your future!
