Encouragement from a Two Year Old

Last week we had Ruth tested for a UTI, twice.  It came back negative both times.  She is finally over running a fever but still acts like she doesn't feel well sometimes.  But today Ruth gave me encouragement at my doctor's appointment revealing some of the things we must have said to her.

Today was my annual check up at my OBGYN.  Of course, first thing they ask you to do is visit the restroom and leave a sample.  Since Ruth had just experienced this herself, she was an expert.  She told me, "come on, Mommy, just a little more" and then when I was finished, she clapped and said, "good job, Mommy, thank you for peeing in a cup, Mommy."

During my exam, I was holding Ruth's hand and taking deep breaths.  As she stood by the table with my hand in hers, she gave me the best encouragement ever.  She said, "You are doing a good job, Mommy."  The nurse thought this was very funny.

Grayson was awake the entire time but is currently enjoying chewing on his feet every chance he can get.  He has entered the high pitch, little scream phase that Brian used to say sounded like a cat when Ruth did it.  Ruth fed him a Cheerio this morning; Grayson is not eating Cheerios yet.  Thankfully, it came right back out when he moved his tongue.  When I got out of the shower the other day, his face was covered with yogurt, compliments of Ruth.
